Saint Charles Hospital is an alcohol and drug addiction treatment facility that is located at 200 Belle Terre Road in Port Jefferson, New York. Treating substance abuse involves multiple stages of treatment through a recovery program such as that offered by Saint Charles Hospital. This can include group counseling, individual counseling, outpatient treatment, inpatient treatment, and medically assisted detox, among many others. Treatment programs are based on the individual themselves and are constructed to suit each patient individually. Just as every person is unique, so should treatment programs and that is exactly what patients will receive at Saint Charles Hospital.
If addicts do not obtain the right type of support and guidance, they may find treatment to be very difficult as the thought of sobriety can seem so far-fetched. At Saint Charles Hospital, professional counseling and guidance are provided to all patients aged 18+, giving them the strength needed in order to obtain a life that is free of drug and alcohol addiction. By altering the patient's outlook on life through addiction treatment, they will be able to stay positive throughout the duration of rehab.
The staff members at Saint Charles Hospital have a mission and that is to give patients effective and quality addiction treatment so that long-lasting sobriety can be obtained. The path to a positive future starts on a positive foot and that begins at Saint Charles Hospital. Confronting addiction is a difficult thing to do, but it is the most important step in the recovery process. Through professional counseling during the patient's time in treatment, patients will learn coping skills and trigger management which is imperative to the success of maintaining sobriety.
Maintaining sobriety on one's own is extremely difficult, especially when the addict has tried to go 'cold turkey' on their own. This is because it requires medically-assisted detox in order to properly and safely wean the body off of the substance of abuse. This way the body does not go through sudden withdrawal nor experience harsh side effects. Saint Charles Hospital can provide patients with all of the necessary tools, treatments, and resources so that patients have every opportunity to succeed in recovery.
Getting treatment is the best option when seeking a life that is free of substance abuse. Get the help required now and start living the best life possible. Contact Saint Charles Hospital by visiting www.stcharleshospital.chsli.org now.

My initial and horrible experience was being recommended by the paramedics and ambulanced to their emergency room. After arrival, I was ignored and dismissed of my pain/injury and (unknown to them) kidney infection. The attending physican was going to discharge me in excruciating pain, unable to walk and symptomatic of an infection. I told him I was entitled to care and was not in any shape to be discharged. He then told me he would not admit me or care for me and that I'd need to wait for the next shift to get care and/or admittance - and I did. 4 days later, I am still here (admitted, not in the ER) under pretty good care. My pain/injury and diagnosed dehydration and kidney infection are being addressed and cared for... it took almost a full 24 hours to begin, but I try not to judge a hospital by it's ER. Please also note this institution charges for TV and a phone thru a 3rd party company - TV-R. I chose TV service only. Personally, I uused my cell. I told them being that I came there via ambulance, I didn't have cash or credit information, they could contact my husband. Day 4 TV-R came to my room... for a $28 payment. They told me it would be turned off due to non-payment. I assured them my husband who works 6 days, 10-12 hours a day and commutes 2.5-3 hours would be in to see me or they could call him for payment. That did not suffice with them. My TV was shut off for $28... really? I've been to 1 other hospital that charged for TV... they now offer it free. When it wasn't, we usually paid upon discharge or when we recieve a final invoice in the mail. The St. Charles and TV-R should be ashamed of themselves to keep sick people captive for such a miniscule amout of money... and for a service most hospitals offer free of charge. Patients are already stuck there, and sometimes for much longer than 4-5 days. Plan and cost of care are priority I've costs, TV is one of very few recreational outlets for patients to get away from the captivity and happenings of illness.
The waiting area and patient area could've been cleaner. That being said the staff was terrific! I visited on a Sunday and was in the waiting area for no more than 5 minutes. The nurse and Drs were attentive, caring and efficient. I hope to never have a need to visit an ER but if I do I will be going to St Charles again
My Mom is 86, she is in and out of St Charles on a regular basis. The staff is kind and patient. The doctors and nurses and aides in Emergency are wonderful. Growing old is very difficult on the patient and the family. They have been nothing short of wonderful.
The nurses, aides, social worker, PT and the entire staff on 3rd floor east provided great care for Mom and her fractured pelvis. Caring, responsive and professional, she was fortunate to have been in such good hands for her unexpected Christmas holiday stay. THANK YOU!
Wonderful staff and nurses and rehab. Even the food is decent.
The rehabilitation center was a wonderful experience as my boyfriend was a patient, Staff was so nice, respectful and the care and support was excellent.
It's been since may that my mother passed but I could not be more grateful for St Charles. I have never seen this level of care and dedication in my life. Your staff truly did an amazing job to try to save her and my family can't thank you enough. Your awesome and amazing...God Bless you all!
This has to be one of the best hospitals for maternity on Long Island. The staff is always friendly, up beat and ready to help, the rooms are really nice, and the couples dinner on the last night is a nice touch. We've had 4 children delivered successfully here. My latest child has some issues and has been in the NICU unit. I can tell you first hand the the staff in there are on their A game. Thank you so much!!!
Honestly I've seen better hospitals. They don't keep up with things, that fact that you have to hound them for answers on your family member in a hospital it's insane. On top of it I've been coming here for almost three weeks and one of the rooms in icu is ripped apart cause of mold and destroyed cabinets. It's horrible
Care at St Charles has always been exceptional for our family. The doctors are very concerned about you health both physically and emotionally. There is a certain level of trust that they surely rise to. I would recommend St Charles Hospital to any of my family and friends.
The ER is usually not as crowded as other hospitals and so the wait time is very reasonable. The staff is helpful and courteous it is part of Catholic Health Services
I received wonderful care while there for 3 weeks. The nurses and aides were wonderful and attentive and the doctors and therapists were fantastic, as well.
This hospital is wonderful. I had surgery here and every department I interacted with were great. The nursing staff is caring, knowledgeable and quick. I can not say enough. You are in good hands at St. Charles.

Ive had several experiences with the ER over the last 6yrs that I have lived in PJ. I have had mostly good experiences with the care & the staff. I was treated for migraines, asthma, allergic reactions, bronchitis, once I sliced my finger wide open and had to have stitches(barely a scar left)... The wait time compared to other ER's is very low. Only once did I have a very bad experience. I was having an allergic reaction, migraine & vomiting. I was given an anti-nausea med that made me severally anxious & restless which drove me CRAZY! I couldn't sit still and I couldn't keep from shaking, I must have looked like a person from an insane asylum!! The medication that they had give me was KNOWN to cause this reaction! AND I was not informed before being given the meds, I absolutely would have rather been vomiting than this AWFUL feeling that I could do nothing about except wait for the drug to leave my body. Lesson learned ask the side effects or interactions of meds before taking something just because the Dr. subscribes it ... just because it may treat one symptom well it may cause other symptoms that could feel worse. Overall I would recommend this hospital.
